Official Synopsis: Friends of a missing bestselling author discover her living like a frightened animal in an old dilapidated house as she struggles to finish her next book. But when they attempt to get her out of the house, they learn that anyone who tries to leave is killed by their innermost fear. As the bodies begin piling up, the survivors must outwit the hundred-year-old curse... or no one gets out alive. Our Take: Fear House is a pretty good horror flick, with lots of blood and people being offed in different, gruesome ways. Like most movies of this genre, it is afflicted with glaring logic gaps, but much of the acting is quite good and that helps a lot. One thing I can’t get over, though, is how the woman that all the main characters go to visit at the haunted house managed to survive there for months, when everyone else was sent to meet their maker on day one after entering the house.
Still, there are enough unforeseen twists to keep viewers interested and the ending is pretty fitting, although slightly bizarre.
Extras included with the DVD include:
* Commentary with actors David Morris, Aleece Jones and Matthew Stiller.
* Outtakes (3 minutes) – Bloopers from the set.
* Actor Rehearsals (6 minutes) – Watch the cast rehearsing lines, off the set.
I recommend Fear House for fans of horror movies. If you like things like people’s heads being chopped off and seeing the arterial blood continuing to pump out of their neck, you’ll love this movie. Go ahead and check it out…unless you’re scared?
