Dead Man's Bounty

Official Synopsis:

A Stranger. A Sheriff. A Wanted Man. A stranger rides into a small town carrying the corpse of a wanted man. Hoping to collect a reward, the mysterious outsider loses the dead man - and potential bounty money - in a gambling game with the town's drunken sheriff. Val Kilmer appears in perhaps the most unusual of all possible roles as the dead man himself.

Our Take:

Like many of his recent performances, Val Kilmer is a stiff in Dead Man’s Bounty, except this time, its for real; Kilmer plays a dead man. The DVD cover compares this film to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (my all time favorite Western) but there’s no way this avant-garde piece of crap is anywhere near that caliber of film.

With no special features, there is nothing redeem this DVD. Fans of the western genre may be interested to check it out, but tread cautiously. With stunning landscapes and actors seemingly giving their all, Dead Man’s Bounty should play out better, but it left me with empty pockets and wishing for a few dollars more.

Overall Picture:

Film: D

DVD: C-
