Official Synopsis: The plan for these high-school seniors with a major case of senioritis: break into Principal Dickwalder's house and throw the party of the year. But Principal Dickwalder overhears Adam explaining the plan; ruining the celebration... or does it? Adam's only chance at redemption is to host the party himself. Gorgeous models, stripteases, a gigantic gravity bong, a funeral and some crepes are the key elements to the best skip-day party ever. Their only problem? Principal Dickwalder is on a mission to stop the festivities. This hilarious, fun-filled adventure will make you want to plan a skip day of your own. Our Take: There are no surprises to be found in Senior Skip Day. The plot is, naturally, about the geeky guy trying to land the hot girl but there are also, of course, numerous kooky situations that arise in his wake.
As unsurprising as this movie is in plot, the thing that irks me most is that it’s actually ridiculously funny at times and could have been more than just a decent movie if there weren’t so many bizarre tangents. And by tangents I things happening like the principal getting caught up in a mafia hit, a grandmother who escapes from an old folks home to watch porn, a funeral that’s home to a rap concert, and more.
Tara Reid is probably the biggest name attached to this movie yet her picture is nowhere to be found on the DVD cover art. Sure, her name gets top billing but let’s face it, she’s not a bankable star anymore. And if you watch this movie and you see how hideous she looks in it, you’ll understand why there isn’t a big pinup of her on the cover.
There are no special features included on this DVD.
If you’re the kind of person who enjoys all those American Pie straight-to-DVD sequels, you’ll definitely appreciate Senior Skip Day. Although the plot is dumbed down, the jokes are right on the money.
Overall Picture: Movie: B- DVD: C
