Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes (Uncensored)
Official Synopsis:
The long-awaited lost episodes are finally here. With the success of the first two seasons, Dave finally gets to meet Show Business, spend some time in his new crib, and show what happens when Lil' Jon goes Hollywood. Outrageous, intelligent, and provocative, Chappelle's Show - The Lost Episodes proves that Dave Chappelle is now and forever one of the funniest, most boundary-pushing comedians ever to appear on television.

Our Take:
Ok, let me just get this out of the way: Dave Chappelle 50 million dollars crazy Africa no third season what the hell happened.

Great. Moving on. How is the show itself? Well, for starters, the third season (if you can call it that) is short. It's only three episodes. Basically, they took everything filmed before Chappelle's little vacation and edited it together with some new intros by Charlie Murphy and Donnell Rawlings and got three shows out of it. Now I can't blame Comedy Central for trying to recoup on what must have been an inconceivable loss of money. The funny thing is, the show is pretty much right on track with the first two seasons. Before the detour, the show was continuing to skewer celebrities and semi-celebrities, with much of the humor aimed squarely at Dave himself. One of my favorite sketches is about how people treated Dave after word of the $50 million deal got out. Frankly, if it wasn't for the fact that it was only three episodes long, this season would have played out just like the first two.

Since there are so few episodes, Comedy Central and Paramount have loaded up the extra features on the disc, making sure you get good bang for your buck. Considering how well this disc would have sold no matter what was on it, that's pretty generous.

* Unaired Sketches - Five unused sketches with a total running time of about 15 minutes.
* Deleted Scenes - Seven minutes worth of unused scenes from sketches that did air.
* Bloopers (25 minutes) - A huge collection of flubs and goofs.
* The Fabulous Making of Chappelle's Show Season 3ish (21 minutes) - A semi-candid look behind the scenes of the lost season. Dave Chappelle is noticeably absent.
* Commentaries - All three episodes feature commentary tracks by Neil Brennan, Charlie Murphy, and Donnell Rawlings.
* Musical Performances - Two songs from John Legend and Dead Prez.

While Season 3ish (as its called in the set) has got to be a let down to fans for its quantity, the quality can't be denied. It might not hit the same high notes that the first two seasons did, but considering that these were unfinished shows, who knows what brilliant sketches might have been right around the corner? Fans of the show will still definitely want to pick this DVD up.
