Hosted by Steve Sabol, NFL Films Classics: Legends of Autumn DVD features all the remarkable stories along with the pulse-pounding music and classic sound which became the trademark of NFL Films. The three-disc DVD set also includes original artwork exclusively designed for each disc by award winning illustrator Tavis Coburn. NFL Films Classics: Legends of Autumn DVD is the perfect NFL collectable gift set and will be available on January 30, 2007 for $39.92 SRP.
NFL Films president Steve Sabol portrays the rich back-story behind the classic stories of NFL Films. NFL Films Classics: Legends of Autumn DVD outlines the history of NFL Films which went from a small production company called Blair Motion Pictures to the present day “Keepers of the Flame” of the NFL. The DVD’s special bonus features includes six NFL Films “Lost Treasures” films featuring behind the scenes sights and sounds of the NFL, never before released on home video.

About the Artist: Tavis Coburn Tavis Coburn graduated from California’s prestigious Art Center College of Design with a BFA in Illustration. Since then, Tavis has created countless works for leading publishing, advertising, music companies in North America and Europe. His clients include Time, Rolling Stone, GQ, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Weiden Kennedy, Sony/BMG, Island/Def Jam, and Universal Music, to name a few. Tavis’ unique style is inspired by 1940’s comic book art, the Russian avant-garde movement, and printed materials from the 1950s/60s. Over the years Tavis’ work has garnered many accolades, including top honors from The Society of Publication Designers, the Society of Illustrators, and American Illustration. In 2005, Tavis was featured in the “Fresh” section of Communication Arts, was selected by Print magazine as one of “20 Breakthrough Talents Under 30”, and just received a gold medal in the Illustration: Story category at the SPD Awards. Tavis worked with NFL Films on this project to design the exclusive packaging art for all three discs.

• Disc 3: Legends in the Making: o Features two films that changed sports documentaries forever. “Hail to the Redskins” presents an all-access pass to the Washington Redskins throughout the 1971 season. For the first time a film captured life on the practice fields and in the locker room of the NFL. o The second feature “Championship Chase” details the 1974 season through the sites and sounds of the season, combined with the music of Sam Spence. Legendary moments, including the “Autumn Wind is a Raider” essay, showcase a narrative style that was unique to sports documentary.
