Beavis And Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection Volume 2
Official Synopsis:
Idiot savants to some, just plain idiots to others, Beavis and Butt-Head transformed comedy, animation, film, pop culture and the world. But most of all, they rewrote the definition of what it means to be funny:
funny adj. funnier, funniest. Uh...like when you sit on the copy machine and make a xerox of your butt. Uh huh huh. In this second volume of the historic Mike Judge Collection, Beavis and Butt-Head demonstrate how they changed animation more in five years than most cartoon characters do in a lifetime. And they did it mostly by sitting on their couch, eating nachos and acting dumb. Now you can, too.

Our Take:
It's been a long time since I've really thought of Beavis and Butthead as anything other than a pop-culture phenomenon from the 90's. But all it takes sometimes is one little moment to take you back in time, and that's what happened to me with the new Beavis & Butthead DVD collection. As there's no real continuity to the show, I decided just to pick episodes to watch at random, rather than in "chronological" order. I started off with "The Great Bungholio," the Halloween episode that introduced Beavis's alter ego, Cornholio. Man, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. When the doorbell rings and Beavis emits this half-human screech while covered in chocolate at an unsuspecting trick-or-treater, I about lost it. That's when I remembered how funny this show could be.

It could also be amazingly stupid. Let’s be honest; for every episode that is gut-bustingly funny, there is another episode that is equally as dumb. But I'd be lying if I said that I didn’t get more than a few chuckles out of the set as a whole.

As with the first DVD collection, this three-disc set also includes a handful of extra features, including:

* Taint Of Greatness: The Story of Beavis and Butthead (20 minutes) - Mike Judge and company continue the tale of Beavis and Butthead's success.
* Music Videos - Thirteen different music videos, Beavis and Butthead style.
* Special Appearances (11 minutes total) - A collection of B&B appearances from various specials. Includes: Butt Bowl 94-96, MTV's 20th Anniversary Special, Calvin Klein Ad Parodies, Moron-A-Thon Clips featuring Snoop Dogg, and an Unaired I Love The 90's Segment.
* Montages - Two short collections of clips from the show.

Chances are good that if you never liked Beavis and Butthead to begin with, watching this set won't do much to change your mind. However, if you were a fan for a while there back in the 90's, you might be surprised at how much fun it is to revisit America's two favorite morons.
