A couple of us from the staff here at DVD Snapshot took a bit of a road trip and went to a discussion/book signing with authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. They wrote the original novel that the movie The Relic was based on, and they've gone on to write ten more brilliant best-selling novels since then. Their newest book is The Book Of The Dead, but check out any of their novels for a really great read. I realize this isn't really DVD related, but their books are so fantastic (and we did ask them some movie-related questions), I really wanted to share it with you. Of course, my camera decided to go blurry on the one picture of myself with the authors, but I threw it down there anyway, just because it was so cool to meet them.
The authors spoke about the film rights for their books (still tied up at Paramount, except for their non-Pendergast stories. Fox has the rights to The Ice Limit), as well as how they write as a duo, their solo books, how they do research, and much more. They were super-nice and lots of fun, and we had a blast! I've just gotten Mrs. Snapshot reading their books, and I started her with Still Life With Crows. I'd recommend that one or Cabinet of Curiosities as a great jumping-on point if you want to read some really great, well-researched fiction. Enjoy the pictures!
